WHO WE ARE
The band comprises of 10 Individuals all accomplished musicians and performers in their own right, some regularly play as solo artistes, others teach and some have written their own material and released it, together these people form one of best bands in the area.
Lee Vasey: guitar/vocals/band leader
During the last twenty four years has built up a reputation as leading one of the best function bands within the south east, writing, arranging and recording his own material. Royston ‘Chubby Brown’ Vasey, David Coverdale, Chris Rea, Tommy Cooper, Norman Wisdom, Jimmy Ruffin, Mud, Showaddywaddy, Tammy Jones, Cathy Dennis, Ez Rollers are just a few of the artists he has featured with.
Jeff Gordon: bass guitar
Many years of touring and session work with the likes of: paul gorman (of neneh cherry fame), alan read, jack hawkins and the rah band.
Colin Brady: drums
Musical highlights include sessions for bbc television, itv, radio 3, radio 4, drum workshops and drum tuition.
Bekki Carpenter: vocals
Bekki has recently returned to Norfolk after spending 12 years performing professionally in musical theatre in London's West End, and on tour. Shows include 'We Will Rock You', 'Saturday Night Fever' & 'Starlight Express'. Bekki has also been a backing vocalist for Greg Lake, founder member of 'Emerson, Lake & Palmer'.
Claire Barker: vocals
Claire has fronted several function bands in the home counties, writing and performing original material as well as doing session work. Later, after returning to her native Norfolk, she established herself on the local music scene as part of a hard working duo, before joining the Lee Vasey Band.
Matt: tenor saxophone
After getting a degree at Leeds college of music, Matt started working with the Lee Vasey Band, he has a fantastic sense of solos, especially for rythm & blues, and his jazz playing is second to none.
Chris Spencer: tenor saxophone
Chris has been a professional player for many years. He has played on various cruises and worked with many bands. He has a great reputation as a jazz player, and his sizzling solos add a great vitality to the lee Vasey Band.
Ian Laing: trumpet
Six years in orchestra pits, television work, gigs with James Brown, Bruce Forsyth, Maxine Barry, Bill Tarmey and Chubby Brown.
Pete Laurence-Couzens: trombone
Past work includes bbc, itv, big band circuit, theatre and tours on many cruise ships.
